The film tracks the journey of a piece of marble, symbolising Western culture, as it
travels between Greece and China in international trade. It explores the various facets
of globalisation driven by the Chinese economy, often referred to as the 'food chain.'
A piece of white marble, mined in Greece, takes us on a journey attempting to unveil
the transformation of marble from an ordinary stone to a symbol of wealth and power.
The rise and fall of marble monuments and the trajectory of marble are used to
illustrate political, economic, and cultural changes from ancient times to contemporary
globalization. This documentary doesn't closely follow individuals or engage in dialogues
but instead adopts an observational perspective with distance. It employs a humorous and
somewhat absurd filming style, presenting a wealth of social landscapes and aesthetic tensions within this "flow."
