About CiLENS
CiLENS e.V. is a Berlin-based non-profit organisation dedicated to cross-cultural dialogue through film curation and socially engaged cultural practices.
Rooted in Sinophone cinema and Asian diasporic narratives, CiLENS engages with socio-political questions around gender, migration, identity, and urban transformation.
Since its founding in 2022, CiLENS has developed into one of the most active platforms for Sinophone and Asian diaspora cinema in Germany, engaging over 5,000 participants and receiving public funding support, including from the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Fonds Soziokultur.
Through screenings, talks, research, interdisciplinary collaborations, and community-based formats, CiLENS creates public spaces where diverse perspectives meet — fostering exchange, reflection, and collective learning. We approach cinema not as a passive viewing experience, but as a medium for participation and dialogue.
CiLENS collaborates with filmmakers, institutions, and cultural networks across different contexts, and actively welcomes new opportunities to expand its connections and explore new possibilities.
